Day 1 Dehradun to Base camp to Raithal

Natin Village serves as the idyllic starting point for embarking on the Dayara Bugyal trek, nestled approximately 38 km away from Uttarkashi. The journey to this quaint village is a scenic delight, with the Bhagirathi River accompanying you along the verdant route, offering a soothing backdrop of lush greenery. The path to Raithal winds its way amidst towering mountains, creating a picturesque pathway that leads you closer to the heart of the Himalayas. Passing through Uttarkashi, the largest town en route, and onward to Bhatwari, the anticipation builds as each bend in the road unveils increasingly magnificent vistas of the surrounding peaks.
Upon reaching the Moryana top, the first glimpse of the majestic Gangotri range and the towering Shrikanth peak awaits, inviting you to pause and capture the awe-inspiring beauty of the mountains. Drawing nearer to Natin, the grandeur of the mountain peaks becomes more pronounced, with Shrikanth peak standing out prominently against the skyline.
Despite the remote setting, mobile network connectivity is available here, ensuring a touch of connectivity amidst the wilderness. Uttarkashi boasts the last major market along the way, with a smaller market at Bhatwari, offering essentials for your journey ahead. As evening descends, settle into a cozy guest house or experience the warmth of a village homestay, immersing yourself in the local culture.

Day 2 Raithal to Gui camp site

- Meal: breakfast, lunch, evening tea snacks, soup and dinner.
- Altitude: Gui camp site ( 9,500 ft).

Wake up early in the morning feeling excited to start the trek. The path leads through a jungle filled with beautiful silver and gold oak trees. Don’t worry about getting lost; the way to the campsite at Gui is easy to follow and always visible. The trail gradually goes uphill, but it’s not too difficult. It takes about 4 to 5 hours to reach the next resting spot, so make sure to bring enough water—around 2 liters—as there are no places to refill along the way.
As you climb higher, you’ll notice the mountain views getting better and better. Most of the trek goes through dense forests, with lots of maple and oak trees. Sometimes, you’ll see bright rhododendron flowers adding color to the greenery. The campsite is surrounded by tall alpine trees, giving it a cozy feeling.
You’ll see some small village huts nearby, where local people keep their cattle during the summer. There’s also a unique igloo-shaped hut in the distance and a small lake called ‘Barnala Tal’ nearby. From Gui, you’ll get almost the same amazing views of the Gangotri range and Shrikanth peak as you do from Raithal. Take short walks around the campsite to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. At night, relax under the beautiful starry sky and recharge your energy for the next day.

Begin the trek early in the morning from Gui campsite. Descend from Gui village towards Natin village, following the trail through the picturesque forest. Enjoy the scenic beauty and tranquility of the surroundings as you make your way towards Natin village. Take short breaks along the trail to rest and admire the views.
Arrive at Natin village by late morning or early afternoon. Now Embrace the farewells with your fellow trekkers as you bid adieu to the enchanting landscapes of Dayara Bugyal. Capture the moment with a memorable group photograph before boarding the cab that will depart for Dehradun at around 10-11AM.
Embark on a scenic 7–hour journey, winding through the mountains, valleys, and alongside the Bhagirathi river, which served as your faithful companion throughout the trek. As you journey back, cherish the plethora of adventure–filled memories and make a promise to return to the mountains again. Wishing you a safe and joyous onward journey to your destination.
- Stay is included on days of the trek (from Raithal). You will be staying in tents on a double sharing basis.
- Transport charges from Dehradun to Raithal and return.
- All meals from dinner at Raithal on Day 1 to Lunch on Day 4 are included. Meals are simple, nutritious and vegetarian.
- All the trek equipment will be included like a sleeping bag, kitchen & dining tent, utensils, mattress, tent, toilet tent, and crampon (if needed).

The best time to trek to Dayara Bugyal is during the summer and autumn months, specifically from May to November.
During this period, the weather is generally pleasant, with clear skies and moderate temperatures, making it ideal for trekking.
The meadows of Dayara Bugyal are at their most beautiful during the summer months (May to June), when they are lush green and adorned with blooming wildflowers.
Autumn (September to November) also offers stunning views as the surrounding trees change color, creating a vibrant landscape. However, it’s essential to avoid the monsoon season (July to August) due to the risk of heavy rainfall, which can make the trails slippery and challenging to navigate.
During winter, adventurers flock to Dayara Bugyal to immerse themselves in the snowy wonderland. The landscape undergoes a mesmerizing transformation, adorned in pristine white snow, creating a picturesque scene reminiscent of a winter wonderland.

How to Reach?
- By Bus: From Delhi, a regular bus service operates to Dehradun. The main bus station in Delhi is ISBT Kashmere Gate, offering both AC and non-AC buses for the journey to Dehradun.
- By Train:To reach Dehradun from Delhi stations (NDLS, DLI, DSA, NZM) by train: Take a direct train to Dehradun Railway Station.
- By Air: The closest airport to reach Dehradun by flight is Jolly Grant Airport, located approximately 35 km from the city. Regular flights from Delhi to Dehradun are available. If you plan to arrive by flight, it’s advisable to schedule your arrival one day in advance.

The road will wind through the mountain until you start seeing the forest line. On the way, you will be mesmerized by the sight of the Garhwal Himalayas. The scenery will remain the same till you reach the first place, which is Devprayag. Here, you could stop and be spellbound at the sight of two rivers merging (sangam): Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. You could see the different colors of the river, as Alaknanda is mudy in color while Bhagirathi is greenish blue in color. Then the next place you would be crossing is Karnaprayag, which is one of the famous Panch Prayags. Finally, after driving for almost 8 hours, you would be amazed at the place you would be staying, as the place is surrounded by forest.
